leo has used up most of his nine lives. when he was born, he almost died and one of my coworkers literally gave him mouth to mouth and resuscitated him. then he, his sister and their mom went into foster care. all was well…
eventually, it came time to neuter him. the vet said he has the loudest heart murmur she has ever heard and felt. she didn’t even need a stethoscope to know it was there. we proceeded with the neuter, and he is doing great afterwards. he has a will to live.
the next part of his care will be get an echo of his heart to find out what really is going on in there. is it enlarged? does it have a hole? what is the defect causing this amazing heart murmur!?

The vet thinks his life will be shortened. However, getting the echo test done will clarify what is exactly wrong with the little man. He definitely doesn’t let anything stop him! He’s all kitten!

I’ve had several cats with heart murmurs and all of them were just fine. Hopefully, this is just that common thing with kittens and it heals up as it grows..

The echo will happen on Friday. someone (an elementary school teacher) is going to adopt Leo regardless of what the test says. He’s just that sweet. At least he will enjoy a loving home while he can!
